Why Checkpad Isn't a Touchscreen (And Why That's a Good Thing!)

Why Checkpad Isn't a Touchscreen (And Why That's a Good Thing!)

As tech enthusiasts, we often get excited about the latest and greatest features. But when designing Checkpad, our main priority was to create a user-friendly and efficient device. And sometimes, that means going against the grain.

Here's why we chose not to use a touchscreen for Checkpad:

1. Battery Life is King
In today's fast-paced world, nobody wants to charge their devices constantly. A significant factor behind Checkpad's impressive battery life is the absence of a power-hungry touchscreen. By eliminating this, Checkpad can go up to 120 days in automatic mode, ensuring you have one less thing to worry about.

2. Location, Location, Location!
Checkpad is designed to be stationed where items are stored. Changing the items it represents shouldn't be a frequent task. In most cases, users will configure the device once and use it repeatedly without changes.

3. Cost Efficiency
We wanted Checkpad to be accessible to everyone. Incorporating a touchscreen would have driven up the device's price significantly. Our goal was to offer a high-quality product without breaking the bank.

4. Customization Without Complexity
Yes, the icons on Checkpad are printed. However, they're not set in stone. With the Checkpad app, you can easily map each button to a different item. And if you're feeling creative, we even provide customizable stickers to personalize your Checkpad further.

5. Durability
Touchscreens, while great, can be prone to smudges, scratches, and other wear and tear, especially in bustling environments like kitchens. Checkpad's design ensures it remains durable and easy to clean.

Looking Ahead: The Checkpad Pro

While we firmly believe in the choices we made for the current Checkpad, we are always looking for ways to innovate and cater to different user needs. With that in mind, we're excited to hint at a new project: Checkpad Pro.

The Checkpad Pro will feature modifiable icons, providing users with even greater flexibility. This feature will be particularly useful for those who desire a dynamic interface for ever-changing tasks. While the classic Checkpad is designed with the shopping list in mind, the Pro version's adaptability makes it perfect for "To-Do" lists, professional tasks, and more intricate organizational needs.

However, we emphasize that every product has its unique strengths. While Checkpad Pro will offer increased customization, the original Checkpad's longevity, simplicity, and cost-effectiveness make it an unbeatable choice for straightforward shopping list tracking.

In the end, whether it's Checkpad or Checkpad Pro, our mission remains the same: to simplify your life, one button at a time.
